![]() ![]() I don't even have a clue as to what the Chapayev is like, but since it ends up with a brutal Tier X, at least it's worth the grinding pain. I don't want to repeat what others have already said, but for me, there is no point to playing this cruiser when the Hipper and Mogami are available - both of which have favorable qualities when compared to the NO. The reason for that idea, the US CA New Orleans, a totally underwhelming experience to be sure. ![]() I was thinking of starting a new thread about the most disappointing ships that a player has had so far, but thought I would save it for a rainy day. ![]() It's easy to suddenly find yourself over extending and taking a lot of fire. Cruiser play at that level seems less about brawling and more about keeping enemies in front of your guns while exposing yourself as little as possible to the enemy. One of the things to watch out for is tunnel visioning on an enemy and being mindful of your position and distances to other enemies. I try to present the least tempting target as possible but am not above running away and kiting enemies into friendly guns. ![]() Many times this will cause enemy fire to fall short without compromising maneuverability too much. For what it's worth I only have experience with my Atago in high tier meta. What I've learned is to stay outside of detection, fire, maneuver slightly to avoid return fire, drop off detection, reposition, fire again and repeat process. I do my best to not show any side while detected and try to stay angled at whoever is aiming my way. I will sometimes drop my speed abruptly when fired upon and then gun the engine to full. ![]()
